I think I will be in college forever because I change my mind about what I want to be when I grow up approximately every 6 months. It's not because there's nothing I want to do. It's the opposite- I can't decide what I want to do most because I am interested in too many things. I have currently decided on a psychology related health care track. Since the world has enough clinical psychologists, I figured I would go a different route. I might end up in nursing. We will see what happens. I think I would like to be a counselor.
I originally began my college life with the intention of being a biologist. I have always been fascinated by nature and it seemed to be a good career for me. I worked hard in high school, and I'd applied to universities out of state. I wanted to live on the east coast, Boston in particular. Then, my dad was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I decided to put off going to college in order to be near him because we didn't know what was going to happen. He went through some aggressive chemotherapy and we are very fortunate to still have him with us. Even though I didn't get the shot at living New England like I wanted, I'm glad I stayed. I think I would have regretted leaving Michigan that year.
I met my boyfriend Mike at SVSU, which is the university I settled with because it was near dad. He is an amazing guy and has been through a lot in his life. It's difficult for us sometimes, dealing with the aftermath of his childhood, but there's nobody I'd rather be with. I feel very fortunate to have met him.
I am still hoping to move to the east coast at some point.
I suppose that's enough about me for now...
